Jonathan Dennis & Russian Arm filming Mclarens P1 for BBC Top Gear and Mclaren

For over 20 years i have honed my skills a joystick remote head operator. Having notched up hundreds of thousands of hours filming in challenging environments, High Speed & Off Road filming in particular have become my comfort zone. Filming in such environments requires knowing as much about what is going on with the vehicles/equipment and why, as the competence of the operating itself.

Filming a moving or static subject from a moving object is an art that I've learnt and loved for some time. Every shoot brings with it a new challenge, the environment, the weather, the brief. Whether the budget stretches to operating a camera from a state of the art stabilized head coupled to a the fantastic Russian Arm tracking vehicle, a crane or hard mounted head on the bed of a more traditional shot-maker style tracking vehicle, a helicopter, a drone or even a simple bicycle, if it moves and can be filmed from a moving object, then i'm in my element.

That moment when the vehicle and camera are in the right place at the right time, the constant communication with the crew to bring it all together, the relentless tweaking of the frame and camera settings, merging in graceful moves or just holding the perfect frame to tell the story, the whole process never fails to bring a smile time and time again.

I have many options available to ensure we have the right vehicle for the job, please get in touch to discuss your shoot.
